Darling here!

Thank goodness for Zandy who is typing this. I don't know if I will go on by myself again, but it is a very interesting blog. She won't give me the password, so I might never get on again and it happened on Laura's 14th birthday! It sure is a very interesting family. SO HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURA, from your grandmother. Zandy is my favorite grandchild.

Editors note:

I might have added a little bit, since she can't see what I am writing.

She also just told me the story of when Rufus was biting her and she said "Stop biting me"
and then Laura(then 2-3) looked at her and said, "You do know he doesn't talk"

Our other "cousin"....

Scott...on the Precher side...but not Steve's family...ya know, the New Orleans kind of cousin... where everyone is your cousin...just had a baby boy. Most of yall probably haven't seen Scott in 15 years, but here is a picture of OLIVER PRECHTER.

....And this is probably the smartest/wittiest three year old (is he four now?) to ever exist. Shannon's big boy PAYTON at his birthday party this year. This picture was too cute not to post.

patti and i helped to initiate a recycling program for our neighborhood. we have over 200 homes and at least 30 families participated on saturday, september 5th. this was our third month into the program. we picked up enough cans, newspaper, and plastic to fill up my truck twice.

if every american recycled one tenth of their newspapers, we would save 250 million trees every year !

Alexandra/ Alexander

Dear mother, father, Uncle Dale, and Aunt Patti-

Did it ever occur to yall that you were all using the same first name for two first cousins? I can only assume that Aunt Patti and Uncle Dale saw how perfect I came out and wanted to name their son after me. I would have done the same... May I have many more namesakes for generations to come!

Alex's Hair

Lately, I have been involved with a facial hair growing competition during this month. I know I may not have the manliest beard but I did it anyway. I did clean it up a bit during the month. It was surprising to learn that this competiton was more psychological than anything. Lets just say that many soccer moms gave me the stink-eye during this month.

The pics are pretty big so prepare yourself if you click them.

Brace Face

I was just thinking about the time I yelled to Leslie to go get the scissors so I could cut Matthew's braces out of the carpet. Anyone remember that???

Locks of Love

About a month ago (maybe a bit more), I donated 10 inches of my hair.

For those do who do not know, Locks of Love makes wigs for children with Cancer from donated hair. From thier website: Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

Just within our family, Zandy and Laura (I think) have donated to Locks of Love. This was my second donation of hair. I wanted to share the pictures of the actual haircut. They are fun.

Obviously, the pictures are in reverse order. Enjoy!

Update and Website is up!

Went to Nola and saw Harry Potter with Alex and Liz at midnight, and the freaks were out!

I went to Tennessee for a week with some friends, then to Destin with Lizzie and the parents..

Business is well, I have been working with some brides this month, and I start working at a Bridal shop in Gonzales where I will be the on-staff wedding consultant. Also, with lots of help from Alex, I have a website up and running!

www.eventsbypeyroux.com

Check it out, and let me know what you think!

Shout out to Aunt Donna and Uncle Robert for their anniversary, hope yall have a great day!

The big 25th Birthday is approaching, and I am excited. We have some plans- we are having a Slip n Slide with lots of friends, and then a Game Night. I'll post photos, so don't worry Zandy. ha

London Town

Hello from the UK! All is well here. The city is thriving with history, and good times. There is always something going on and it never ceases to amaze me. Last night I went to a concert in the oldest venue I have ever seen a concert. Calvin Harris played in the Somerset House, which was the first business district in London. It was built in the 17oo's. Anyway, I hope all is well mates!

Cheers,
Colin

Don't stop till you get enough

Over the July 4th weekend I went to the City of Angels for the first time to visit a friend. Had a great time but it was just another reminder that Chicago is the best city eva! As soon as I landed we headed straight to Six Flags Magic Mountain.....Pretty much the highlight of my trip. I swear for my honeymoon I am just going to take a road trip to all the theme parks in the US. There was this ride there called Tatsu where you are locked in like you are flying. You are just hanging there with all your weight against a harness thing on your chest and there is nothing between you and the ground (or the sun when you are making a loop) You can see what its like by clicking the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_eKfNi2T24.

This is Casey and I on the Terminator...

Then we did some site-seeing around the city and on Hollywood Blvd....

BUT FOR THE REAL REASON THAT I WENT TO LOS ANGELES....

Barbara Ann!

This is very shocking to me! Recently I realized that the Beach Boys song it actually "Barbara Ann". My whole life I was singing "Bop, bop, bop, bop bop bor ram. Bop Bor Raaam. Oh take my Hannnnd". Apparently, I'm not alone... Leslie thought it was "baba lamb" and my mother thought it was "bomb or ram"....Were we the only ones making up our own lyrics??

I'm now a Blogger, Twittering is Next!

I figured it out! .......As most of you know, Steve had major back surgery 3 weeks ago, so that means STEINA had major back surgery .....This will be a very slow recovery which is giving be cabin fever, and affecting our zydeco dancing schedule...... So, I'm a caretaker these days .........For Now, we will be the old people discussing his doctor's appointements, his recuperation, etc.................. ...I've been cooking alot of neat things, and, with no dancing, I have slowly gained my weight back.....For you youngins, I have a new delicious easy recipe for you .....................and it's called "ginas pasta shish-ka-bob " ......After reading the earlier blogs, I have these questions?? ....Dale, why are you tiling Ashley's room, isn't it carpet? ......Patti, are you now like Gwen Stefani, are you doing the wild dancing? ....... Lizzie, don't hold your breath, do you really think Matthew is going to blog??...LOL ..... if it "ain't" about gaming, he ain't interested ...........!!!

What is this, another old person?

Hey Zandy, great idea!!
The only way I hear anything is when Neil reads facebook!
Of course Dale had to tell you about my tip, but what he didn't say was that I shared it with the rest of the band. and the guy was inebrieated!!

I am just working hard, and trying to survive the heat.

Hey, where are the rest of the old farts?

Patti

how does this darn thing work ?

i always wondered why anyone would bother reading somebody else's ramblings................what a waste of time !! but in this case, i see real value in the whole process......................this is a great idea, zandy.................and as a warning to all, i will probably be reading the posts to darling but i will probably not read some things - like my last statement............

things are going well at work................i am mostly focused on improving the physical plant so that i can sell my practice in the future ................i just completed the first phase of concreting the parking lot - and it is helping with the parking already.........very exciting stuff :-) ................i built a new food room ( 8 foot by 16 foot) last year behind the reception area and the staff seems to like it................my next project is another expansion off of an exam room.................

my veterinary band played in indianapolis in february and patti and i had a good time..............we had some issues with a singer so patti decided to take singing lessons so she could help out the band - mostly as a backup singer............she did so well that her teacher told her that she should be singing lead !!................so she did her first public gig with my local band at elmwood fitness center ( yes, we get free membership ) a few weeks ago and got a $100 tip !!!!!!!!!........she may blog about it later but she is being modest................

at home, i am starting to lay tile on the second floor - starting with ashley's room..................and i am slowly working on the back yard landscaping project..............

ashley forgot to mention that she and i are going to el salvador on a mission to build houses during thanksgiving week......................
I forgot to post this in the last blog..

Update from Ashley

Thanks Zandy for creating the blog, hopefully the oldies will learn how to post within the next year.

Updates with me:

After living in Hammond for a year, I moved back to Baton Rouge to pursue a career in Event Planning. I took a Wedding Planning class in the Spring, and have been working at Boudreaux's, a reception hall. The manager has been asking me to do all wedding related things, while the rest of the staff arranges the tables and things. I also start at Debbie's Bridal in Gonzales as the on staff Wedding Consultant in August. I have created a facebook business page, and in the process of creating the website (with Doug's help).

Going to the Smokey Mountains in the beginning of July with friends, going to Destin a few times with Andrew's family and once with Lizzie. Having my 25th birthday also in July, it is going to be strange!

Signing out!

It's Alex! ...uh..Alex Peyroux? Anyway...

Hey there family,

For those of you who have not been snooping around on facebook (Neil), here are a few updates.

  • I will be participating in the Disney College Program this fall. I will be living and working in Florida from August 19th to January 10th. Please come and visit. Call me beforehand and I'll get you kids a hook up with some sweet deals...if I feel like it. I accept bribes of food and shiny coins.
  • I am still attending Southeastern Louisiana University. I moved back home because I did not want to sign another lease for my apartment. Pros: free food, no bills, family closeness. Cons: I'm in college and I am living at home. Which brings me to...
  • I am single.
  • I am saving up for a Tokyo Study Abroad through the Langu-bridge program. I would be spending 3-4 weeks living with a foster Japanese family outside of Tokyo attending college courses in the city of Tokyo. I am very excited about that.
  • My graduation date has now been changed from 2011 to "the Future" on my transcript. I am still planning on attending medical school just nobody knows when. I am looking to get into a Medical school in the country, but I have been researching two programs through Scotland and Queensland, Australia heavily. But that is pretty far into the future.
I think that brings yall up to speed. If I think of anything else, I'll be back.

I wanna give a shout out to Zandy for the good idea.

EDIT : Here is the link to my personal blog that I'll be updating while I'm out of town. I'll probably be posting a ton of pictures.

Zandy Rocks! (and an update)

Hey all! I just wanted to thank Zandy for starting this. I think it will help us all keep in touch more than one or two times a year....

I will start with the updates...

  • I am still living in Audubon Trace. We pulled up the carpet downstairs and put down hardwood floors. It is still under construction. I will put pictures up when it is done.
  • Dad had my sales award published in the Hammond Paper. He is planning on putting it in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge Papers. I have attached the image for you to see.
  • I am running the Disney Half Marathon in January in Orlando if anyone wants to come and watch. Doug and I have been running a lot on St. Chuck and the levee. My longest run to date is 10 miles about 2 weeks ago. I might be running a half marathon in October in New Orleans, but I will let you know as it gets closer. (NOTE: Great job Zandy who has already ran a half marathon!)
  • About a month ago, I donated 10 inches of hair to Locks of Love. I will put some pics up eventually.
  • I think that is about it. Again, thanks Zandy for doing this. I am pumped to read Matthew's post. :) Also, Ashley and Alex need to send out an update. Here is a little teaser: we will be reading 2 posts starting in August. More later. Goodnight all!
xoxo Lizzie

Hello World Wide Web!

Well, it has come time that Peyroux family joins the rest of the technology world and starts blogging. I realized a long time ago that I have no idea what my own brother is doing these days, let alone what the rest of my cousins, aunts and uncles have been up to. Shoooo, last I heard Laura graduated from Kindergarden! So, here at "The Peyroux Family Chronicles" feel free to update this blog with past memories, current events, health status, love status (I'm still single of course), pictures, pet tricks, hobbies, or anything at all that you would like to share with this, ummm, unique family. Happy blogging!
